Being an activist and resister can be tough. We spend a lot of time holding some big, exhausting feelings so it’s really important that we take care of ourselves and each other.
In our LOVE AND CARE workshops people come together to make a collaborative mini-zine all about self-love and self-care. Responding to a series of questions, collaborators make artworks, which we then gather together into a one-off zine, made available to everyone digitally after the event. The zine acts as a beautiful reminder of the particular day and place that it was made, and of all the people who shared space there together.
If you’d like us to run a workshop at your event, get in touch.
FEM Festival: Summer Edition, Raw Labs, 18 August 2018
We were invited by FEM ZINE to lead a workshop at FEM Festival. Over a whole day people came and visited our space where they created mini-artworks responding to questions around self-care. These were then exhibited on the wall at RAW Labs, and we scanned them and created a zine which we have digitally published below.
ANTI ART FAIR (CREATIVE DEBUTS AND THE OTHER BOX), PECKHAM SPRINGS, 6 & 7 OCTOBER 2018
We were invited by Creative Debuts and The Other Box to lead a zine-making workshop at the inaugural Anti Art Fair at Peckham Springs. For an hour and half participants collaborated on mini-zines around themes of self-care – some making zines to pick up in times of stress (filled with distractions, compliments, things to do etc.), and others making posters and collages on what makes them happy. Alongside the workshop, our inspiration table had a plethora of zines we’d collected from other brilliant zine-makers we love.
